Thursday is a very busy day for me. Here we go again:
What’s the last book you were really EXCITED to read?
And, were you excited about it in advance? Or did the excitement bloom while you were reading it?
Are there any books you’re excited about right NOW?
I really don’t intend to make everything about Harry Potter; it just happens.
The last book I was genuinely excited about was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I’ve read plenty of books since then, but none has made me even want to stand in line for hours in the middle of the night. None has made me read until my eyes are burning because I so desperately want to know what happens next. None has made me avoid the Internet and even other people for the better part of the day for fear of someone ruining the ending for me. A Walk to Remember made me cry, too, but not squeal in delight at finally getting the kiss I’d been waiting years for. It was epic.
Right now, I’m pretty excited for Thumped, the sequel to Bumped (which I reviewed at ACNM and here on LL). I’m also eager to read the last two books in the Hunger Games trilogy, but not so excited that I can’t wait a while. It’s already been almost a year since Mockingjay came out, and you don’t see me scrambling to Barnes & Noble. I don’t know if anything will ever make me as excited as HP, though. Life-changing books don’t come along all that often.
